Environmental Groups

Florida Defenders of the Environment -  This great organization was founded in 1969 to stop the Cross Florida Barge Canal. Since then, they have spearheaded efforts to remove the reservoir and have been actively working to protect our freshwater resources, promote conservation of public lands and provide quality environmental education.  http://www.fladefenders.org/

Florida's Pure Water Wilderness - Pure Water Wilderness, a non-profit organization formed in 2000, is the Dixie-Gilchrist-Levy Tourism Development Board.
